FIFINE T669 Microphone Review: Is This Budget Mic Worth ₹3,000?

fifine t669 mic

For a long time, I was using the BA LVR microphone for my YouTube videos. And honestly, for around ₹900, the sound quality you get from that microphone is pretty impressive. At that price, I wouldn't be surprised if even Arijit Singh could make a hit song with it.

But I had one major problem with it.

I can't really speak loudly for long because my throat starts hurting. The problem was that whenever I brought the BA microphone closer to my mouth and tried speaking softly, the audio would start sounding distorted. And unfortunately, that kind of distortion is very difficult to fix even with editing.

The noise cancellation wasn't bad, though. With some basic editing, I could clean up the background noise fairly easily.

So, I initially planned to buy a FIFINE microphone. But at the last moment, I came across the FIFINE T669, which was available for almost half the price of some of the other options I was considering. The reviews were also surprisingly positive.

That's what convinced me to give it a try.

I ended up getting the FIFINE T669 for around ₹3,000 from Amazon, and considering everything that comes in the package, I think it offers quite a lot for the money.

What's Included With the FIFINE T669?

One of the biggest reasons I decided to buy the T669 was actually the accessories.

I could have purchased some of these separately, but then there would always be the question of compatibility and quality. With the T669, you get almost everything you need to get started right away.

The first accessory is a large pop filter.

The pop filter looks and feels surprisingly good for a microphone in this price range. It's made in China, but the build quality is actually quite decent.

Since the FIFINE T669 is a condenser microphone, using a pop filter is important, especially if you keep the microphone close to your mouth.

Condenser microphones are quite sensitive, and the pop filter helps reduce the burst of air that comes from your mouth when pronouncing certain sounds. Without one, those sudden bursts of air can create unwanted popping sounds in your recordings.

You also get a simple user manual. The microphone setup itself is pretty straightforward, though. If you're completely new to microphones and still can't figure things out, I'd probably recommend watching a quick setup tutorial rather than spending too much time going through the manual.

There are also a few other accessories included in the package.

You get another smaller pop or wind filter. It's not as effective as the larger pop filter, but it should work fine if you don't keep the microphone extremely close to your mouth.

There's also a shock mount, which is a pretty useful accessory.

What Does the Shock Mount Do?

The shock mount is designed to reduce vibrations and physical noise from reaching the microphone.

For example, imagine you're recording and accidentally touch or move the microphone stand. That physical vibration can get picked up by the microphone and end up in your recording.

The shock mount helps reduce those unwanted vibrations.

For a budget microphone, getting a proper shock mount included in the box is a nice bonus because you don't have to buy one separately.

The T669 also comes with a metal base plate for the microphone stand. It has a metallic finish and feels surprisingly solid.

There's also a small tripod-style stand included with the microphone. This is useful if you don't want to permanently attach the microphone to a larger arm or desk stand.

The main microphone stand is also included. It's fairly sturdy and has a full-metal build. It arrives folded inside the box, but you can easily unfold it and adjust it according to your setup.

The FIFINE T669 Microphone

And finally, we get to the main attraction: the FIFINE T669 itself.

The FIFINE T669 is a condenser microphone, which means it's designed to be quite sensitive and capture detailed audio.

If you're not familiar with microphones, there are two common types you'll come across: dynamic and condenser microphones.

The main difference is that condenser microphones are generally more sensitive, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

If your room has a lot of background noise, a condenser microphone can pick that up as well. So you'll get better results if you use it in a relatively quiet environment.

The T669 is also designed to primarily pick up sound from the front of the microphone, where its main pickup area is located.

One thing I immediately liked about the microphone is its build quality.

There's a volume knob on the microphone, and it feels quite solid. In fact, the entire microphone has a metal construction, which makes it slightly heavier but also gives it a much more premium feel.

Honestly, it feels more expensive than it actually is.

The finish is surprisingly good for a microphone costing around ₹3,000.

At the bottom, you get the connection port for the USB cable. The microphone can be connected using USB, which makes the setup quite simple, especially for beginners who don't have an audio interface.

There is also a mounting point at the bottom where you can attach the included mini tripod stand.

Setting Up the FIFINE T669

Setting up the T669 is pretty straightforward.

If you're using the included mini tripod, you simply screw it into the bottom of the microphone and tighten it using the knob.

Once the tripod legs are extended, the microphone is ready to sit on your desk.

You can then attach the pop filter to the microphone and connect the USB cable.

The included cable gives you the necessary USB connections to get the microphone running with your computer.

And that's pretty much it.

There isn't much complicated equipment involved, which is one of the reasons I think this microphone is particularly suitable for beginners.

How Does the FIFINE T669 Sound?

The biggest question, obviously, is how the microphone actually sounds.

I've been using the T669 for voice recording, and so far, I'm quite impressed with it.

The voice quality is clear, and with a little bit of editing, you can make the recording sound even better.

Of course, you shouldn't expect the same results you'd get from a high-end studio microphone costing several times more. But for around ₹3,000, I think the T669 performs really well.

And here's something I genuinely believe: your microphone isn't the only thing responsible for how good your voice sounds.

If you naturally have a good-sounding voice, almost any decent microphone can give you a good result. And if you have a naturally rough or harsh voice like mine, a little bit of editing can make a noticeable difference.

So don't assume that buying an expensive microphone will automatically make your recordings sound professional.

Is the FIFINE T669 Good for Beginners?

I'd say yes.

In fact, I think beginners are exactly the type of users who should consider something like the T669.

You get the microphone, pop filters, shock mount, stands, cables, and other accessories without having to spend extra money putting together a complete setup.

That's a big advantage when you're just getting started.

If you're a beginner content creator, YouTuber, podcaster, or someone who simply wants to improve the quality of your voice recordings, spending a huge amount of money on your first microphone probably isn't necessary.

Instead, focus on improving your voice, recording technique, microphone placement, and editing skills.

Those things can make a bigger difference than simply buying an expensive microphone.

FIFINE T669: Final Thoughts

Overall, I don't have many complaints about the FIFINE T669.

For around ₹3,000, you get a surprisingly complete package. The microphone has a solid metal build, the accessories are useful, the setup is straightforward, and the audio quality is more than good enough for beginners and content creators.

What I particularly like is that you don't have to spend extra money buying essential accessories separately.

The microphone isn't perfect, especially if you're using it in a noisy room. Since it's a condenser microphone, it can pick up quite a bit of surrounding sound. But if you have a reasonably quiet recording environment, it can deliver very good results for the price.

And that's ultimately what makes the T669 interesting.

If you're just starting out with YouTube, podcasting, voiceovers, or content creation, I don't think you need to immediately spend a fortune on a microphone.

Start with something affordable, learn how to use it properly, work on your voice, and learn some basic audio editing.

The FIFINE T669 gives you enough quality and accessories to do exactly that without breaking the bank.

For around ₹3,000, that's a pretty impressive package.
