FZ techtalks – Why we are all waiting for WWDC 2026

Sooo we are finally reaching the moment of our life we were waiting for since years, yes ! Apple’s World Wide Developer’s Conference of 2026 is finally kicking off on 8th of June and we got to know Apple is not holding back this time. Also this is probably the last apple event lead by Tim Cook as a CEO so he is probably going to make the event unforgettable.
The event is going to be hosted from 8th to 12th June and reportedly all of them are gonna be live streamed on youtube. So everyone can have the special experience sitting comfortably at their home unlike last time which was hosted in-person and was accessible to only a few invited media influencers.
Now, coming to the event, WWDC usually means the company is going to showcase their upcoming software products and services but every year there is a surprise product launch or upgrade at the end of the event.
This year the expectations are even higher as every other tech company is pushing their bets on AI, specially Nvidia, which is miles ahead of Apple in terms of AI processing. So I am really excited for the new AI based software and hardware updates Apple is going to bring us on the table.
First in the checklist would be the AI upgrade of Siri which was due for a long time, now that Apple is collaborating with Google to integrate Gemini with Siri. Yep, Siri with AI would be a milestone achievement for iphones. However I doubt if Siri will be allowed to access more data as Apple prioritises privacy over anything else.
The Operating systems of every apple devices are also getting an update which will introduce the Siri – gemini integration.
The appearance of the Swift logo on the media invitation of the event resembles a major overhaul of the Swift language that would probably change the way Swift developers write code, with automated AI assisted building tools in softwares like playground and Xcode.
Although the WWDC is primarily meant for software releases, this year Apple enthusiasts are keeping their fingers crossed for the Mac mini and mac studios overhaul as the current maximum hardware falls far behind their nvidia counterparts. The Mac mini needs an m5 pro chip upgrade from the current best m4 pro. The Mac studio has a long pending m5 ultra update from the current best m3 ultra.
Rumours say Apple has postponed the hardware launches to October event due to the memory chip supply shortages. But I still have hope on them as the current Mac PCs have gone out of stock leaving no choice for us. So roughly 2 more weeks to go and let’s hold our breaths and pray for the new mac studio.
