VIVO x300 ultra is set to launch in India on 6th May 2026.
I’ve been looking into android phones with great cameras for quite a some time now and recently bumped upon vivo’s official website which says the launch of their flagship camera smartphone, the top end series of the x300 series, the x300 ultra is bound for an India release on 6th of May. So i decided to clear the confusion for everyone who’s in the same shoes as me because.... why not?
Source: www.vivo.comFirst time when i looked at the phone i literally had to recheck if i was on a dslr webpage because Oh My God ! this phone even has a dslr mount thingy that transforms it to a pro- handheld camera.
According to vivo the stock phone rear camera features a :
Here's a brief breakdown of the cameras if you are someone with less knowledge like me:
A 35mm 200MP Zeiss Documentary Sony LYT-901 main sensor (OIS)
The 200MP means it captures an incredible amount of detail. I can take a photo and zoom in while editing without the image looking blurry.
OIS means the camera got hardware supported stabilization for photos and videos even in the dark.
A 35mm 200MP Samsung AP0 periscope telephoto (3.7x optical zoom, OIS)
This is like true zoom, unlike digital zoom this uses a specialized lens to get the image closer to the subject.
The Periscope design uses mirrors to fold a long lens inside a thin device like a smartphone.
A 14mm 50MP Zeiss Sony LYT-818 ultrawide (OIS)
This lens just zooms the image out to capture more of the scene.
It is perfect for small indoor rooms, massive landscape shots, or tall buildings where you can’t keep stepping back to fit everything in.
Apart from these the phone features a massive 6,000 mah battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, upto 16gb of RAM and a 6.8inch 2k Amoled 144hz display.
Other options?
Now my friends suggested I take a look at the oneplus 15 or the oppo find x9 ultra as they have a more generous pricing though not on par with the x300 ultra in terms of camera performance.
I am skeptical on the Oneplus 15 as there are rumours about the company getting off the roads in India, though I have done no proper research on it. So for now I’m just considering the find x9 ultra as a direct comparison.
Let’s see how the x9 ultra compares with the x300 ultra :
The camera config on both the smartphones are almost identical so I didn’t think about it too much, as for a fact I know software too has a great impact in camera performance. But the find x9 pro got a better battery.
Coming to the pricing, The vivo x300 ultra is rumoured to be starting at ~ 1,40,000 INR
whereas the x9 ultra is supposed to start at ~1,30,000 INR
Though I believe both of them are going to be priced similarly with or without the external lens. Sources say, it’s highly possible both companies are going to delay the external attachment launch for sale in early 2027.
So, based on the specs (better battery, software), pricing and people’s voice, I am leaning more towards the x9 ultra. I’d like to know what’s your take in the comments section. Please let me know if I have missed something.
